Sarah Pohl grew up in the small town of Brooks, Georgia. Living in the country provided opportunities for her to bring home any animal she could. As a young girl her unique and special connection with horses and dogs became apparent to everyone around her.  Her tender heart for rescues launched her into rehabilitating any horse and dog that needed her touch! She enjoyed barrel racing and taking care of her cattle dogs on the farm.

As she grew up and went to college at the University of  West Georgia, she received her nursing degree and began investing in people. She met and married her husband Dan shortly after graduation. They moved to Charleston following their dreams to raise a family near the coast! Once moving to James Island, Sarah knew she needed to step back into providing care for animals. She obtained a position as a Vet Technician at a vet practice on Johns Island. There she immersed herself in traditional and holistic medicine and first learned about the medical benefits of massage therapy from a co-worker. She has continued her work in the vet field, working with two mobile Veterinarians in the Lowcountry but had a relentless passion to use her gifts to do more.

Sarah decided to earn her certification in Equine and Canine Massage and Active release at Equissage. Always wanting to start her own business, Affinity Sport Animal Therapy was born. Sarah has jumped in with two feet providing care to horses and dogs in the Lowcountry. Her affinity for equines and canines, and her love for holistic medicine have become key components of success in her massage practice.

Sarah enjoys spending quality time with her supportive husband Dan, who is also an entrepreneur. Dan is a talented musician with Velvet Bay, a local premium events and wedding band that serves South Carolina. Sarah loves being a mom of two adventurous boys, Koa and Aza. Her family spends time together by seeking adventure on nature walks, kayaking, fitness and of course pizza and game nights. Sarah has two border collies, Surge and Quicks, and enjoys participating at Low Country Dog Agility. She also loves riding horses at nearby stables in Summerville . Sarah’s two horses still reside at her parent’s country home in Georgia, but she hopes to bring them to SC in the future.
